Sharpie Infinity Scarf

I have been checking out the Sharpie Marker Dying. So during the Frankenstorm, I decided to take one of the cotton infinity scarves to try this technique out.

I made dots, dashes and lines with the Sharpie markers on the scarf, then dripped a couple od drops of alcohol on the marks. The alcohol draws the color of the markers as it spreads along the fabric. Once the scarf is dry (it needs to be dry because it is covered in alcohol and is highly flamable) so, once it's dry toss it into the dryer for 15 mins to set the color.

I got the cotton infinity scarves at Dharma Trading for cheap $$.

24 Days of Handmade Gifts, Furry Pets and Holiday Awesomeness

Last year I did a gift a day to count down to Christmas, an Advent Calendar type of thing for the little one. So this year I'm doing it again, the only thing is that they are going to be handmade gifts. I'm going to share all 24 crafts over the course of the month of November.

Starting November 1, I'm going to post handmade crafts that will make great gifts or stocking stuffers, a new series called Furry Fridays – spotlighting a lady and her pets each week, a 2012 Santa Envelope along with general Holiday Awesomeness so check back all month long to get into the spirit.

Happy Halloween – I love a good party!

We were invited to 2 Halloween Parties. I can't say that any of us were up for it. We were all sick and exhausted. The little one danced that morning. Husband was so sick he could barely talk and I am just wiped out.

But here is our effort for the parties. A Unicorn and a Day of the Dead couple. Hope you love them. That is Becky from B is for Becky. as the Utz Potato Chip Girl

Happy Halloween!!

Today I have an Awesome Blogger posting here. It's Holli from Holli's Hoots and Hollers! She sponosred the Geek this month – so here's a great big THANK YOU!, to her. Check out her Halloween Post!

Hi Y'all, I'm Holli and I had a sponsor ad on Stephanie's blog and
she asked me to do a guest post.  I had a Halloween party this past
weekend and I wanted to share some of my decorations with you. I
decorated a little every night for the past 3 weeks. There was so many
pictures so i could only choose a few.

I got a little crafty and painted 4 plastic wine glasses with ghosts
and painted : I'm here for the Boos on the back of them. I decorated the
hallways, the dining room, the garage, bathroom- pretty much every
where. I dressed up as a Day of the Dead bride and mu Honey was my
groom. Most everyone dressed up which was really fun. I have more pics
of the party to post later on my blog some come over and see me.

My skeleton kept watch over my wine. There were many more bottles in there. We drank most of them.

Book Shelfs needed some webs and spiders

This was hung in hallway to walk thru

2 great minds think alike. We seriously didnt plan on dressing the same.

For all my East Coasters, good luck in this storm. I hope we don't lose power but our house has power outages just on a normal rain storm, so I am sure we will be dark.

Bloglovin Blog Hop Co-Host

I’m co-hosting a great hop today. I really love using Bloglovin to get all my blogs in one email. This party is a great way to meet a lot of new bloggers. So, link up and start partying!
If you’re looking for Whimsy Wednesdays you can find it here. Otherwise, continue on down to mingle with some amazing bloggers!

What’s Bloglovin’ you ask? Well, only the greatest way to keep track of the blogs that you love. With the discontinuation of Google Friends Connect (GFC) for non-blogger blogs like myself, I decided that I needed to find another way to keep up with all of my favorite blogs that are not hosted by blogger. I stumbled upon Bloglovin’ and I am in love! It is very similar to Google Reader, in that you can see the beginning of the post and the first picture attached to the post. Plus, Bloglovin’ automatically updates your posts. Another added bonus is there is a Bloglovin’ application for IPhone and Android devices. Woohoo! Like I don’t spend enough time reading blogs. Now it’s a simple touch. Love it!
In order to participate in this hop, you need to have Bloglovin set up for your blog. You can find a super easy tutorial here. I promise it’ll take you less than 10 minutes and you’ll thank me down the road.

There’s only a couple of rules:
1. Please follow your hosts! They are the 1st seven blogs linked.
2. You MUST link up your Bloglovin’ url to participate, NOT your blog.
3. Post our button for the blog hop on your page to promote the fun or share about the hop through Twitter or Facebook would be greatly appreciated.

If you’re interested in co-hosting next month, you can find info here and then shoot me an email at russej10{at}gmail{dot}com if you’re interested. I also have some sponsor spots still available for November, which you can find here. Alright, so let’s have some fun and mingle! Please remember to ONLY link up your Bloglovin URL.

Vintage Pumpkin Advertising

My Thrifty Find is a Pun'kins Candy advertising printing plate. I love this. We have a 3 acre pumpkin farm and we are always attracted to vintage Halloween and Pumpkin stuff.
This must have been used to print the front of the display box of penny candy pumpkins. At the one end it says 80 count – what a money maker right!?!
We picked this up in our travels, but I haven't found a place to display it yet – it's super heavy. Husband wants to make prints with it – but I haven't got to that either. I am really happy we stubbed upon it – I love it!
