Sparkle Stocking – Holiday Projects

Welcome to The Buckle Boutique Winter Bling Party!

Today the Design Team will be sharing projects we created using the products from The Buckle Boutique for your winter holiday crafting.  Get ready for some projects with rhinestones, sparkle and bling!

My project takes a dollar store stocking from drab to fab using an iron on rhinestone fabric and a rhinestone brooch.

Start off by grabbing a stocking from the dollar store and a piece of the Multi Color Rhinestone Fabric.

On the back draw a basic Christmas Tree shape and using everyday scissors, cut the shape out. That's right you read that correct, all you need are basic scissors to cut the fabric!!!

Next, Cut a piece of white or clear crystal Rhinestone Fabric for the top band of the stocking.

Heat the iron up and press the Rhinestone Fabric tight to the stocking. The backing of the fabric is a heat sensitive adhesive that only takes about 30 seconds to press.

Once the top band and the decorative tree have been pressed into place take a Fancy Round Circle Rhinestone Brooch and pin it to the top band of the stocking.

Now, hang the stocking by the chimney with care and hope that Saint Nick fills it with even more sparkly treats!

Wednesday WOW – Use Temp Tattoos for Bento Box

Am I the last person in the world that knows that you can use temporary tattoos to decorate bananas for the Kid's Lunch Box!?!?!

Today, I was trying to pack something different in the lunch box and I saw the bananas sitting on the counter. There were reasons why the banana never made it into the box before,

#1 She will never eat a whole banana

#2 If I peel it, it will get funky and brown

#3 It's so boring.

Well, not anymore!!! I grabbed a temporary Monster High tattoo and placed it on the banana peel. Brilliant. I know I'm not the first to do this, but did you know? I'm sharing this new found idea so you can pretty up your child's lunch box.

Plus, getting over the brown funkiness – I cut the banana and placed the cut end in a little bowl of lemon juice and water. The citric acid help ward off the brown.

Just a little tid bit for a lazy Wednesday. Enjoy!

It's that time of year when we need to start looking for that one great gift to give to our loved ones. One of my great sponsors has some unique products to make anyone smile. Read on to learn more about Sherry Truit Studios.

We are Anything but Conventional

Anything but conventional jewelry + objects is a fluid collection of hand crafted work since 2007. Our designs are the juxtaposition of disparate elements to create pieces to wear and use in your home. Vintage meets modern in a clean, simple style.

We have always been enamored by everyday objects. On long bicycle rides, my husband would spy pieces of old maps, compasses or fallen wood, just ready to be transformed. We'd stuff our pockets with them and ride home.

We work exclusively with vintage maps. We are keenly aware that maps evoke powerful emotions. We pair vintage maps with sterling silver and solid bronze to create our jewelry line and use chromed steel in our drawer pulls and cabinet knobs.

Our work captures the memories of adventures and explorations; of brides and grooms, in commitment ceremonies as well as couples that have adopted from a faraway place. We work with couples who are celebrating milestone anniversaries and taking journeys of a lifetime.

Our map drawer pulls grace the cabinets of explorers and rock stars, nurseries and libraries of the young at heart. You'll also find them on Bob's handcrafted shelves.

It is our full time work and passion to meticulously hand craft our line. Our standards are high, our service paramount.

Don't you want to wear something no one else is

Spice Up Serving Utensils with Bling!

I purchased these serving spoons from the dollar store. There was 2 in a package, so that means they are $0.50 each. By themselves they are boring, disposable, utilitarian serving utensils. With only 5 minutes and a couple of strips of the Clear Jeweled Dazzling Diamond Sticker Sheet  you can create a fabulous looking serving spoon to add class to your covered dish, this holiday season.

I measured the length of the handle of the spoon and cut a strip of the Clear Jeweled Dazzling Diamond Sticker Sheet, with a regular pair of scissors, matching the measured length. Next, peel the backing off and stick it right to the handle. I placed a strip on the front and the back on the spoon.

Dazzlediamondspoon-2 Dazzlediamondspoon-4

Done, that's it. Since this is a resin vinyl you can gently wash the spoons by hand for reuse. Plus the larger gems add a little grip to the handle, just another added bonus!

These would make a cheap but beautiful hostess gift. And if you forget them at the holiday party, it's no big deal.

I hope you enjoy them and make your holidays sparkle this year!  If you want to add a little sparkle to your life visit the Buckle Boutique!

Comfy Fall Outfit from

I fell in love with these leggings the moment I saw them on I had no idea how comfy and warm they would be. When they arrived the first thing I had to do was head out into the woods for a little walk to see if they would stand up to the chilly weather and the answer is YES! They are fuzzy lined leggings with vintage style deer printed on them. Pair them with a chunky over-sized sweater and boots, for a great look. I like the mid-calf boot instead of a tall knee high. I added the skull earrings and the scarf for a couple of accessories, plus the scarf is add warmth. I love Persunmall, the prices are great and the stuff is wicked cool. If you need fall outfits, check them out.

Wanna grab my comfy fall look?

Retro Round Collar Cable – Grab an oversized boyfriend sweater to pair with your leggings.

Orange Folksy Print Snowflake Leggings – I love these leggings for cool days and a comfy causal look.

Cool Punk Skull Ear Studs – everyone needs a pair of these! I love them and they offer the look of plugs without the ear stretching.

Lace Up Martin Boot – OH MY aren't you the loveliest boot around, why don't you just walk on over to my place. I love a great lace up boot and then not tie them. It's a little sloppy and it adds to the comfort and ease of the look.

Britist Style Scarf – You can never go wrong with a plaid wool scarf. Winter – I'm ready for ya!

My New Cat-Eyes from Zenni Optical

I have an obsession with glasses, this is not new, by now everyone should know. They are fashion accessories not a stagnant part of your daily wardrobe!

I recently had the opportunity to try out a pair of glasses from Zenni Optical.

They have one of the best selections of cat-eyes that I have found! The pair that I picked are super awesome! The have a brown and blue tortoise shell look going for them, plus the studs in the corners. When they arrived they are sparkly! Like a vintage amusement park ride metal flake AWESOME Sparkly! I love them and the Hubs give them 2 thumbs up! In the pictures below you can see the glimmer of the orange when the sun hits them.

To see the whole line of cat-eyes, check this out  . They have other great styles to choose from as well, but I was looking for my perfect pair cat-eyes.

The price is right! My glasses, single vision, were only $27.95 plus $4.95 for shipping. At prices like that you can have a pair to go with every outfit!

The ordering process was simple, choose the style and color of frames, have your prescription handy and follow the step by step instructions. It took more time to pick the frames than it did to order them.

The lens are super clear and the overall weight of the frames/lens are light and comfortable.

One thing, I was surprised on how small the frames fit my face. The earpieces are tight, but not uncomfortable to the side of my head, so be aware of that when you measure your face and compare it to the size of the frames.

You can always upload a picture of yourself and virtually try on the glasses!

Zenni has a great selection of glasses at great prices! Follow them on Facebook, Twitter, Blog

I heart you cat-eye glasses! My glasses and I went out Swing Dancing on Saturday and they did not move a millimeter while I was cutting a rug. Another props for these glasses!!!

FREE Printable Santa Envelope and Letter for 2013

CLICK HERE for 2014 Updated Postmark and Letter

Back by Popular Demand is my printable Santa Envelope.

My Daughter just loves getting this reply from Santa. Like I said in the past she even took notice to the post mark, noting that it is different than the post mark on the other Christmas cards we had gotten – so it really did come from the North Pole!!!! I changed the letter this year so if you grabbed the Freebie last year, get the new letter this year – KIDS ARE SMART THEY WILL REMEMBER – don't have Santa send the same message 2 years in a row! Keep the magic alive!

Here is also something really cool, have your child write a letter to Santa and take it to the local Macy's and place it in the big red mail box for Santa. They donate a $1 for every letter they recieve.

The Envelope: I made the file in a Word Document so it can be downloaded and the address can be personalized, then take a stamped envelope and run it through the printer printing this template on it. This "cancels" the stamp just like the post office. Grab the envelope here: Download SantaEnvelope2013

The Letter: Last year, I created a letter to personalize to put in the envelope. This year I made updates and changes to the letter, so grab a new one!  I used the same logo for the letterhead and set it up with a text box to type your own letter or keep the letter I already have and just edit it for your child. If you choose to use the letter as is, the words in bold are what you will to personalize. Grab the letter here: Download Santaletter2013

SantaletterBoth the letter and envelope are typed in a standard font for easy download for all. I used Free Fonts from 1001 Free to make them fancy.

The Name on the envelope: Before the Rain the address in: Notepad

The Body of the letter is in: St. Nicholas and Santa's signature is in: Before the Rain.

This one of our favorite Christmas traditions. Start the Santa Letter Tradition for your family today!!! Happy Holidays!

I think you have to download the file, not just open it in the Explorer window.

I have found that in some cases the Word file has 2 pages, one that has the return address and the stamp cancel, in the second page has the address text box.
The address text box can be moved by clicking on the corner of the text box and dragging the text box to the top page, then typing the address in the text box.

I believe you can also add a text box by going up to insert, text box.

I hope this helps!!!
Please let me know. If it doesn't work I can email you the file – maybe a direct email will help instead of downloading.

SHARE THIS – make a child smile and keep the magic alive!
