Sweet Geekness Look at My New Specs from GlassesUSA.com

Glasses Review

I love glasses. I need them to function in life but I have decided that I should not have to live with the same pair of glasses for years! They should be fashion accessories that tie the entire ensemble together. I was offered the opportunity to try out the ordering process over at GlassesUSA.com.

They offer great styles of eyeglasses for excellent prices! Of course my selection came from their Retro Chic Collection but they have many options to choose from. Many of the stylish options are priced under $100! How awesome is that?

I’ve heard so many time this week – “I can’t buy glasses on-line. I have progressive lens.” That statement is just crazy talk, you can absolutely buy affordable perscription glasses with progressive lens online, as long as you have your prescription.

I love the frames that I selected. The Muse Japer Black with Clear Turquoise are really cool. I love the faux semi-rimless look of these glasses. The turquoise color is so brilliant, I love the pop of color. It just looks fantastic with my outfits!

Sparkle Gloves with Rhinestone Hearts

Bling Gloves

These gloves are ready to make your hands warm and your outfit fabulous. I picked up a pair of gloves at the local dollar store and using the Rhinestone Puffy Heart Slide from The Buckle Boutique, I created a fast and simple Valentine's Day accessory that every girl would love to wear, especially here in Pennsylvania.

This project uses the slides instead of the pin back brooches. Why, you might ask, is because by using the slides they can be stitched tight to the glove so it will stay in place while the pin backs may open due to repetative pulling the gloves in and out of pockets. The last thing you want to do is stick the back of your hand with a pin. Yuck!

Using a needle and thread whip stitch the slide back to the glove with a matching color thread, tie a knot and secure. Simple and Easy!

Boy Behind the Geek – 2014

Here we go! Starting off for January 2014, let's get to know the Boy behind the Geek.

Known here as the Hubs, he answers some tough questions – Movies – he is so not into pulp culture, it's rare that he quotes a movie or TV show.

1. What was your favorite movie of 2013?
    Despicable Me 2

2. What is your all time favorite movie quote?
I got nothing. (side note from The Geek – Hubs and I can run through this bit from American Graffiti, so it might not be his favorite but it's one he knows.)

Falfa: " … but that can't be your car. It must be your mama's car! I'm sorta' embarrassed to be this close to ya!"
Milner: "Yeah, well I'm not surprised, drivin' a field car!"
Falfa: "Field car? What's a field car?"
Milner: "A field car runs through the fields, droppin' cow shit all over the place to make the lettuce grow."

3. What is your favorite type of movie? (Action, scary, comedy, etc)/
    Comedy

4. What is your New Year's Resolution?
    Eat out Less

5. Finish the sentence: This year I will….
This year I will play more with my daughter.

Accessories need Bling too!

Here is a simple way to add a little something to the everyday phone charger. I am in love with the White Dazzling Diamond sticker sheet from The Buckle Boutique. I think it was the perfect match to jazz up my otherwise boring iPhone charger. There are many colors available, so go grab your fave and make something sparkle!!!

Plug

The Dazzling Diamond sticker sheet is an adhesive vinyl that you can cut with everyday scissors and stick to anything!!

Plug2

Start by measuring the width of your plug, then get a measurement for the wrap. Cut a piece of vinyl to wrap around the plug, remove the backing and stick. Done, so simple. You're plug is now bedazzled and it took you maybe 2 minutes! Cut smaller pieces to wrap around the ends of the cord too. How cool is that?
